HOB Racing was founded in 2004 by a group of brothers that share a common interest, drag racing.
Since the late seventies our main hobby has been building and racing Pontiacs. We have owned several 1971 Trans Ams with the almighty 455 H.O.
Back in the 80s, when we were turning heads with our seemingly stock setups running faster than most modified cars, we received the nickname of "H.O. Boys" for our ability to tune the 455 H.O. into a street and strip terror.
Fast forward nearly 30 years and our passion for speed, excellence and the pursuit of “High Output” performance remains. We no longer own only Pontiacs, but they remain our true love. We are now completing a buildup of a 1978 Trans Am with a 455 that will only see track duty. This car has gone from a high 12 second daily driver in the nineties to a mid 11 second bracket racer in 2004. It will be back on the track in 2007 with a new paint job and a fresh engine. 10s are eminent. Look for a complete write up on this car in our Feature rides section.
Along with our track car we own the following street cars: 2003 Mach 1 Mustang, 1969 Corvette, 1981 Z28, 1989 Trans Am GTA. All these cars see occasional track duty. They will each be available in the Feature rides section as well.
Our automotive philosophy is simply to make the most efficient use of power available and build cars that perform well on the street and strip. We are not looking to reinvent the wheel…We just want to spin it a little faster!
Through this website we hope to share our experiences and insights with you. Our combined talents will allow us to continue building the very best in terms of quality and performance available today. Our knowledge is expanding as our thirst for it never ends.
So Spartan Up and see you at the races!
